What is your favorite photo? *GIVEAWAY*

Started by Texasholly , author of june cleaver nirvana 6/16/2011 11:00:10 PM

This is my favorite photo.  It is me and my boys on a sailboat in St. Thomas.  We went on this vacation 4 years ago in celebration of my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary.

When we returned, I made a Shutterfly book about the trip for both my in-laws and myself.

It sits on an end table in my living room and the boys look through it at least once a week.

All three on my boys.

One boy in particular studies it on a regular basis...it is the boy who isn't pictured above, Rhett(5).

When we went on that trip years ago, Rhett was 7 months old.  I didn't think babies and beaches were a great mix, so Rhett stayed with my parents for the week...and that is a whole other Shutterfly book.

Rhett has taken it personally over the years.

Why can't I go to St. Thomas?

Well, a few weeks ago he got his wish.  His years of lobbying paid off and we returned to St. Thomas with the ENTIRE family.

And we took another sail...

...and I am making an updated Shutterfly book.

I’d like to hear about your moment of joy!

In return Shutterfly would like to gift you with $5 off your next photo book to commemorate life’s joyous moments.

Do you have a favorite photo that captures it? Upload your photo below with your story for a chance to win a $200 Shutterfly Gift card.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Shutterfly. The opinions and text are all mine. Offer valid for $5 off one photo book order and valid for one-time redemption per member. My moment of joy was this past November when I married my true love, Joey. We decided on a destination wedding and traveled to Las Vegas for what was truly the best moment of my life. We had champayne every day and we went to see various shows along the strip, but most of all, we got to spend the whole week together reminding each other of how much we loved each other and how much we had grown as people simply because we were together. I have dedicated 2 photobooks to my wedding event and I have ordered multiple copies of these books for family. They are truly a treasure that I can enjoy and a coffee table book to entertain friends and family. Thank you shutterfly!

This was last year when I flew up to VA with the kids to visit their dad. I realized when we got to the beach that "we" were not five any longer but four since their dad had made other choices. I decided that this was going to be a happy time for our little family no matter what and took this picture to commemorate it. It's my very, very favorite and is now the screensaver on my phone and laptop. :)

So glad he got his wish! Just one moment of joy? There are so many. Isn't that a wonderful problem to have, not being able to pick one out of many? Ok, a recent one... my 8 year old won first place at the Pokemon States Tournament in Massachusetts. Fingers crossed that Nationals goes even half as well!

I don't have a really great picture of the 3 of my kids so this is one of 3 of my favorite pictures. This is my 1 year old daughter Carleigh.

What a great story and the photos are beautiful. I'm sure the photo book will be cherished for years to come.

I tried to comment yesterday, but it said comments were closed... Glad to see it's working now! What a sweet story! Rhett looks so happy-- what a dream come true for him! Not to mention, the entire vacation looks amazing. Here's a moment of joy from my own life... My little man, Gabe, enjoying his first ice cream cone. He'd had ice cream before, but this was the first time he'd ever been given his own cone. He was so proud of himself! And what made this moment even sweeter (excuse the pun) is that his cone was given to us on the house by the sweet woman who owns our local ice cream parlor!

These are my pure joys! I have one more that isn't quite walking yet, but I can't wait until all three of them are able to be buddies just like this.
