Super Cheap Idea for organizing your cabinets. And basically your WHOLE LIFE!

Started by Shannon , author of Milk and Cuddles 5/2/2011 12:00:10 AM

I was always trying to organize my cupboards, only to forget where things fit best, just days later. Within weeks all my hard work would totally disintegrate. But then I discovered a super thrifty design solution!!

Using Chalk board contact paper to label! The genius is that when what you need to store changes... you just erase it! Have grocery lists all over your fridge? I did. Use chalkboard contact paper to make a list hidden in a cupboard!

There are truly a million uses for chalkboard contact paper! Label peoples wine glasses at a party!

Label flour & sugar canisters! And be able to change any of the labels with just a wipe of a chalkboard!

The bottom line is that Chalk board contact paper is  a thrifty, flexible and CUTE design solution!

This is an amazing tool, I love the grocery list idea its super genius indeed. I would say my genius suggestion would maybe be using the contact paper to help you track the content in you pantry. I know I have shelves of canned goods but I never remember what I have or don't have when I'm making my grocery list and so I have to go digging everytime. If I had a reusable list I could cross something off when I removed it and then just glance at the list and be like 'yep out of kidney beans add it'. instead of looking at every single freakin can! hahaha great post!

I totally love this chalkboard paper idea! I am totally going to do it! Thanks Shannon!

That's really cool! Love that you can just erase and change what they say. I'd probably get the organization wrong the first time and if I used regular labels would have to peel them off and start over. Brilliant!

Thanks Caite!

It took me a long time to figure out a way to label that was workable- but now that I have I would never go back! Hope it helps you too!

I love this! How creative. Now I have to go out and buy some chalk board contact paper. I use magnetic sheet paper. It comes in a roll and you can cut as much as you need. Some things I've used it for is to make biz cards for my son's lawn business. We created a card in a word document and then put it on the magnetic strip so he could hand them out as a refrigerator magent to his customers. My daughter and I make jsut some fun magnets to put on our chalk board and fridge.

This is a great idea! I bet I could put some in a cake pan and let JDaniel write on it on trips!

AHHHHHHHHHh SO clever! I'm going to Target right now and I'm going to see if they have any of the matte contact paper. Where do you get a chalkboard pen??? I will look for those too! I really need this in my pantry. Love the wine glasses and canisters on the counter. I'm spreading the word now...
