SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It's when you add certain tags to your posts and name your images with specific titles to help people find your blog easier through search engines, like Google. It can be a bit more complicated when you get into meta-tagging and stuff, which is why I need to work on it some more.

Crafterminds has a really helpful post about it here

I think that this is a very noble and important goal. It is one of mine also. It is so important to remember when trying to grow your blog and receive more comments, you have to be willing to forge friendships and give a little of yourself first. Best of luck with your resolutions.

Some goals I have for my blog for this year are to

  • improve the design to make things easier to find
  • reach out and offer meaningful comments to other bloggers
  • blog on a consistent basis - at least 2x per week
  • improve my writing style
  • invite comments by asking for them with each post & ending each post with a question for readers

I'm sure I'll think of more but that seems like enough to work on for now.

All the resolutions sound GREAT!

My main ones:

  1. Increase readership.
  2. Connect more with local bloggers
  3. Connect more on online blogging communities (Hmmm...this is me trying to do that ;-))
  4. Roll out my 1st big campaign to engage readers.  (finger crossed, it starts Jan. 2nd!)

Improving blog design is a great idea. I really need to change how my pages are laid out. I currently have my tutorials page linked to posts with the tag "tutorials," and I'd like to change them to list all of my tutorials with pictures and a brief piece of the post instead.

Caroline, I think that connecting with local bloggers is such a great idea. Not only can you interact online, but you can potentially form friendships in person as well. I am not sure how many craft/lifestyle bloggers there are where I'm from, but I would be interested to find out!

Isn't re-designing your blog the most fun thing about blogging? I love how it's as artistically rewarding as baking or painting, yet without any of the annoying clearing up afterwards :)

How often have you redesigned your blog?
