My friend named her son Knight. I don't get it.

I wanted to name my son Atticus because I have always been a huge fan of To Kill a Mockingbird.. my husband flat out refused and so I do have a certain jealous streak that comes about every time I hear a child called Atticus haha.

I think my daughter's name, or at least the spelling of it, ticks off family members and friends from time to time. It is spelled Hanah rather than the standard with 2 N's. I actually had a nurse when she was a baby cross out where I had written her name on a form and correct the spelling to 2 N's. I had to laugh at the idea that she actually thought I had spelled my own child's name wrong

All of my husband's brothers have kids... and I really don't like any of their names. One of them even made up a name that contain my husband's name: Alexziah. Weird!  Most of the time I refer to them as Buddy, Pal, Sweetie, Cutie, etc.

I was in the store and heard a man calling his daughter. "Cindi!" he yelled.  "Cindi, stop! Cinderella you get your butt over here now!"

All I could think was poor child.  And then, Hold on Cinderella wasn't even her real name.  You just named your child the mean nick name someone gave to hurt her feeling.  Not well thought out.

I have Delilah.  And it does cause some problems.  But you know every Sampson wasn't a brute led around by his pants and every Delilah is not a temptress.

You guys are cracking me up!  haha  I guess I am the weird one in my family sort of only because I make everyone pronounce the TON ending of my kids names.  Everyone here where we live says their names as though they end in -un instead on TON is drives me batty.  I always give my brother a hard time about his kids names but truth be told I actually LOVE them all now!

Brandie - I agree with you about the TON endings on names. I get on my kids when they say UN instead.

I know it is so sad because I have to get on my own kids now because so many people mis-pronounce their names grrr!
