The Cost of Disposable Diapers (for the Super Frugal Family)

Started by Suburban Tree Hugger , author of Suburban Tree Hugger — Health Wealth Sustainability 7/13/2010 10:09:48 AM

Yesterday, in my Cloth Diaper Me Monday post, I asked for numbers.  I am looking for accurate math to use when parents who are new to cloth want to talk numbers.  The research out there uses $0.255 per diaper as their average.  While this number is accurate for a family that does not use coupons, or purchases the organic disposables with coupons/sales, it is not the average for a  super frugal family.

If your family uses disposable diapers, AND you consider your family to be super frugal, will you share your price point.

I want to strongly note that I am not going to judge you for using disposable diapers.  Personally, I use them for environmental/health reasons.  If you were to compare my life to someone who is driving a more fuel efficient vehicle, has a garden, buys local meat by the 1/4 animal, etc. they would likely top me for sustainability even though I am using cloth and they are not.

Thanks!
