feel really humilated today at in kingsoopers

Started by Tzeching 7/25/2010 12:44:32 PM

I know that Kingsoopers has a policy that no more than 3 coupons for one item but what I didn't know is that I can only use 3 coupons for one item a a day!!!

I was going to get 50 crest toothpastes and donate all of them.

Just to test  out what Jennie taught in the class. So I do different transactions. But the cashier that I talked to called the manager and stop me from doing this. And tole me I bought way over I should.Somehow I feel really mad over this and I know I shouldn't.

Did I do something wrong?Did anyone have experience like this?

I think it's ridiculous.  Try another Soopers, but run it by the manager first.  The should let you do it all in one transaction, too.

Hey girl,

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. While most King Soopers stores will let you do multiple transactions there are some that are super strict. I suggest that you put a call into your store manager and discuss this with them. Make sure they they know that you are planning to donate the toothpaste. They might feel better about it if you place a special order for that amount.

One thing that I want to mention also is that we always want to make sure not to clear the shelves for other shoppers. For example, if they only had 50 toothpastes then you wouldn't want to buy all 50 becuase it would leave the next person with nothing to buy. :)

Hang in there and don't let it get you down...it has happened to all of us!

hi,thanks for the encouragement,I really feel better now.

Actually,I talked to the manager too.And she and whoever that cashier that I talked to made it sound like they are losing money on a sale like this!Even though I really would like to make this donation and also mention this to the manager and she was "friendly" enough to reject my use of coupons!

And,Jennie, as for clearing the shelf, you taught us not to clear it and I made sure that I didn't clear the shelf. The student is following the master closely.

Err!!!I like this kingsoopers because it is the closest! But now I need to think twice.By the way, I have a question about getting free item?Do they really lose money?

And should I bring it up to the coporate office?

:) I'm glad you feel better! No, they do not loose money at all! Remember, they will get paid by the manufacturer for the coupon you are giving them + a handling fee. Sometimes cashiers and even managers do not understand that....and it really is too bad.

Thank you Jennie!

I really don't like the way they treat couponer as we are thieves!Stealing away in their grocery stores.

I know i shouldn't,but I am glad I am not the only one being treated this way.

The manager told me they only get paid 50 cents (in this 10 for $10 crest scenario) which is why I ask if they really lose money when we use coupons and get free stuffs.

They actually do only get .50 back since it is the store that doubles the coupon...but again, that is their choice to double coupons...so the customer shouldn't be given a hard time about it. The time I had a manager say that exact same thing to me I asked her what the difference between me using 10 coupons or 10 customers using 1 coupon each...and there isn't...so she didn't really have an answer. :)

thank you girls! It's really nice to know someone here and not feel so out of place.

I think couponing is really great because it helps me to be able to donate things especially now I am starting my acupuncture clinic and am really tight on money.

thank you again for the support.

I really like it here.

It totally stinks when you get treated like that at the store.  I hate it that store employees do not know their jobs.  My advice is to find favorite employees at stores.  I have certain cashiers that I prefer.  I even have certain stores.  I now have a cashier at a store who has now started saving money grocery shopping.  He is now telling me about grocery deals.  It is totally awesome!!

Actually now I think about it.It was sort of my fault.Because I had run in and out of the store a few times and went through the same check out line and made the manager on duty notice me.And one of the trip I even had overage on my bill!

So I think it would be hard not to notice such a behavior.

Too bad I can only donate 10 toothpaste.I wish I snagged all 50 of them .

Stay strong!  Remember - "Couponing's not for sissies!"

Like JoAnn said, find a favorite cashier and stick with them.  It also never hurts to tell their manager how nice and helpful they are.  I have done that with a couple of my favorites and I think it really makes an impression.
