Cinnamon Roll- A Family Christmas Tradition

Started by Stephanie , author of Somewhat Simple 12/28/2011 5:00:10 AM

When I was younger, Christmas for us began at 4am- we would open presents, then head to my Grandma's house where we would spend the rest of the day with family. My grandma would always have delicious cinnamon rolls waiting for us when we got there and because she made so many we would eat cinnamon rolls pretty much the entire day! We'd play with our cousins and take a cinnamon roll break even at 2 in the afternoon!

I've carried on the tradition of cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning with my family, and I am always trying new recipes. I LOVE CINNAMON ROLLS and rarely find a recipe I do not like. Here are some yummy recipes for I've seen:

The Faux Martha created these cinnamon muffins that are cute served individually and you can eat them without plates or forks!

The Knead for Spead shares this recipe and warns you of the inevitable mess while making these, but promises that it is so worth it!

These itty bitty creations are from The Picky Palate. She uses refrigerated biscuit dough and says you can make these in about 30 minutes!

Cooking Ventures creates this recipe for all the chocolate lovers out there.

The Novice Chef shows a fun pancake recipe that looks delish!

Kevin and Amanda make it look so easy to make this yummy ice cream.

Culinary Concoctions makes my mouth water with this cheesecake recipe.

I actually made these this past Christmas- cinnamon rolls using biscuit dough as seen on Blue Cricket Design. Quick and Easy!

I am obviously a huge cinnamon roll fan- not only because they taste yummy, but because of my grandma and the tradition she started so many years ago.

My favorite holiday tradition is waking up on Christmas morning to my dad's breakfast casserole with fresh fruit and coffee. He prepares it the night before, and then bakes it while we watch my nephews open Santa presents!

One of my favorite holiday traditions is the meal we cook on Christmas Day. It was started 40 years ago by my dad and has continued to this day. I cooked the meal myself this year for the first time. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good. LOL. Maybe by the time I pass it to my children I'll be an expert. :

I love going to church with my family, coming home to a light soup supper and opening gifts on Christmas Eve.
