Lisa? I'm nearly 36 weeks. Can I have a little bitch yet?

Started by johana 2/9/2012 8:57:57 AM

:sigh:  I've been so good at not whinging.  It's getting to that time where it's really hard to hold it in and I think my husband is going to lose patience sooner or later if I keep just dumping it on him...  ;)

Anyhoo...  I got Braxton Hicks contractions with Eli early and often so I was pretty prepared for it this time around.  They've been a bit of a no show and, outside of a bit of joint pain, I've been feeling pretty good.  The last 36 hours though...  I've been getting contractions which is pretty standard but as a fun aside, I've been getting this ripping pain through my back.

All of my kids thus far have been sunny side up and Eli was particularly bad with the back labour bit but this.. it feels like the baby or my uterus or something up in there is squishing a nerve and so when my uterus contracts, it's creating this huge freaking pain that hits in the middle of my back.  I'm getting that period pain radiating through my lower back as well but the tearing pain in the middle...  It's just getting towards unbearable.  Also, I didn't have back pain with Braxton Hicks in previous pregnancies.  Does that just happen?

And...  I have an ultrasound on Monday because the baby's head was "difficult to palpate" according to my doctor.  Either could feel his shoulders and his heads tucked away somewhere awkward, his head's enormous and pretending to be shoulders or...  that's his butt down there.  Fun and games!  Two of those options are just not working for me...

If he's the wrong way up or has some freaky deaky sized head (my daughter had an enormous head.  Off the charts.), could that be why this feels so weird compared to previous pregnancies?  Or is it just an each one is different issue?

Gah!  It's 2am.  I hurt.  :S

Sorry about the vent...

I have no advice but thinking about you. The end of pregnancy is so uncomfortable!

Aww Jo.... complain away.  That last bit is the worst in terms of  how ya feel and if the little guy is putting pressure in all the wrong places that just makes it worse.

I say... 36 weeks is due time for a "C'mon baby and body...lets cooperate!"

Complain away! I remember the pain starting to get pretty bad around 36-37 weeks. I feel for you! I hope the last few weeks go fast!

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well johana. It was at about 35 weeks I started to get nutty with Sarah. I just felt like I wasn't going to be able to handle it much longer. I could not even walk up stairs unassisted and um, my husband works long hours so the kids and I were basically stuck downstairs hanging out in the living room and it was hard.

By 36 weeks I felt like I was hanging on by a string and thankfully at 37 weeks she made her appearance.

I had horrible hip and back pain.  She was facing the wrong direction.

Now, it feels like it was so far away (well it was a year ago).

Just get as much rest as possible and be assured you're in the homestretch.  You can do it!

Oh Joanna! I am so sorry! I remember how uncomfortable I was at the end without all that added in. About that back pain, you say high up in the middle of your back? Is it possible you strained that ligament that holds your uterus to your spine? I did this running across an airport at 8 months pregnant. Was in pain for days.

When you go for your u/s I would definitely ask. Or if that is too far off, seriously consider calling your practitioner.

I hope you feel better soon lady! In the home stretch now! (An American term related to baseballwink)

You guys heard enough of my bitching, girl you could've started complaining a long time ago and it would've been fine with me. <3

I hope you feel better. I never got bh contractions so I really don't know what to tell you it could be.

It's sort of where my back starts to arch.  Would the ligament be there?  Can they see any damage with an ultrasound?  I can't believe you ran in an airport at 8 months!  Crazy woman!  :P

I've got a doctors appointment at 4 today so hopefully she can shed some light on what's going on.  It's just so tiring not being able to sleep and running around after especially the little one all day.  It's making me all emotional and teary.  I'm so not a fan of teary!

Yes, mum...  :P

You know how I was freaking out about C-Sections a little while ago?  I'm going to really regret reading that thread if junior is backwards...  ;)

Also, if I say Emmett...  What are your first associations?  Does the name make you think... bad 80's movie by any chance?

I saw this after I asked how far along you are in Jody's thread. Not sure where I got April from.
I'm sorry you're hurting! I hope the doc has some answers for you.
Which hospital did you decide to go with?

And I really like Emmett! And the only assocation I could think of was twilight. But only because you said association and I had to think on it.
