If It Weren't For The Money...

Started by S.I.F. , author of Single Infertile Female: Now What? 2/5/2012 3:26:58 PM

Do you have anything on your wish list that you would love to go out and buy for yourself right now, if it weren't for the money?

It doesn't even have to be anything big... just something that budgetary concerns are keeping you from making the leap on.

Like, for instance, right now - I'm holding off on new running shoes. I need them, but the money just isn't there. So, I'm holding off.

Of course, I could also use a new laptop, and we all know I was looking at a new car so... I guess my list ranges from small to big! ;)

What about you?

Huge - a new house in a flood free zone that is totally suitable for DH to live in, and the money to pay for two live-in staff, one a VAD trained nurse, the other an ASD experienced nanny.  Just so I can call on them when I need them, not so that they can do my job for me.

Big - landscaping/gardening/sorting out the mess that is my yard.

Medium - A decent haircut and colour

Small - books.  Always books.  And the time to read them!!!

The time to read them is huge! I feel like I haven't sat down to read in weeks because I've been too busy! I don't know how you do it!

A few new pieces for my wardrobe... I want to revamp it a bit.

A SLR camera, which has been on my list for a few years.  One of these days I'll get one.

Pilates lessons at a studio.

A house (but likely wouldn't happen).

Natural medicine and organic, locally grown/raised food ALL the time!

A king sized mattress! We were just about to get one, then realized our SUV needed 4 new tires.

Boo for having to make responsible decisions!!

Oh, and a Temperpedic mattress! (King size, of course!)

That one I can say is totally worth it... If it's a good studio, Pilates can do wonders. I figure I'm doing it for my health, and lower health care costs are always a good thing! ;)

Uggg! I hear you Lisa! The money I spend on supplements and groceries is overwhelming most months.

I just had to replace my tires this fall too. SO expensive!

A new couch.  We've had the same one since we got married and it wasn't a great one to begin with!
