We All Have Our Crazy...

Started by S.I.F. , author of Single Infertile Female: Now What? 2/2/2012 10:33:24 PM

What's yours?

For example, we all know I can be a bit obsessive. Maybe a little wordy. And I tend to have a difficult time letting things go.

Combine that all, and I end up sending long letters to ex's after they've hurt me. Almost every single time.

Totally crazy.

Also, I live in fear of home invasions and always have to check and double check that everything is locked up tight.

And sometimes, I lie awake at night worrying about my house catching on fire.

Again... totally crazy.

So... what's your crazy?

i line things up when i'm not paying attention. like ketchup packets. or i'll take the straw wrapper, tear it into even pieces and line them up all while i'm talking and not paying attention. i look down and bam it's done.

the fire thing, the getting kidnapped thing, thinking i left something on or left my door unlocked and people will steal my stuff.

i will also braid and unbraid my hair when i'm stressed out.

basically when i'm stressed i have to do something with my hands.

I have lots and lots of crazy, however I wont share all of that with you ladies because I still want you to like me :)

I freak out that my vehicle is going to do something horrible while driving. Not such a big freak out that I cant drive or anything but I worry that it will blow up or flip over. It has never happened but still it will get stuck in my head and I will think about it and be super observant.

I flip my pinky toe over the toe next to it. Kind of like crossing your fingers but it is my toes instead. It is actually where my toe feels 'right'.

I feel like this is me ALL THE TIME. I can't ever be still or focused on only one thing. My hands always have to be moving.... no matter what.

Sometimes I think about the poor guy who does eventually end up with me. I can't even sit through a movie. I'm not still unless I'm sleeping. The constant fidgeting would be sure to drive someone nuts eventually!

I'm sorry shannon, but that makes you a true freak in my eyes. ;)

I drive my boyfriend INSANE sometimes. I do not even realize I am fidgeting and all of the sudden he will say "Can't you sit still for a minute?"

Um, no, I apparently can't.

My typical "moving" habit is picking at my scalp. Terrible habit. I knew I met my best friend in college when I realized she did the exact same thing and there was this weird understanding about it. We both do better if we have something like play-doh in our hands to fidget with.

I think it is a type A thing. I am pretty type A except for the fact I can live in a cluttered environment pretty easily. I prefer things neat--but yeah, sometimes the clutter just gets the best of me.

I make huge lists.. Like when I started college I made a list of what the requirements to transfer. It was a check off list. So every semester I would check out what I completed. Except I would change the font, size, color ect all the time because I may or may not be a little OCD. I did the same thing once I got to a university with graduation. Made lists of the classes I needed the classes I was taking I would look at the previous semester and make hypothetical schedules for the next semester. It's totally crazy I know. But I swear it's the reason I made it through college because everyone else I know took classes they didnt need but I knew exactly what I need.

I also design all the time. I will draw up mock drawings or blue prints of something I want to do until I actually do it. I literally have drawn and re-drawn what my future kitchen will look like (and then I found Ikea kitchen design and I do it there now) a hundred times over. Not a huge deal if it's a project we are going to get to right away but we probably wont remodel our kitchen for ten years! My husband always asks me why I didn't go into interior design..but it's probably because I would obsess.

Well I guess it is a good thing I didnt share the *really freakish things I do LMAO

If I make a list I HAVE to do everything on the list or i can't function. I won't rest until everything is crossed off, which means I try to not make lists unless I need to be productive. Which lately I've gotten a fire under my bum and have been cranking out lists all the time.

Elle, I literally make like 5 lists a day. Never use them... but I make them.

I tell myself writing it down once helps me remember things more...

but really we just end up with fire starter ;-)

Lists, blueprints, joint popping, fidgeting (nail tapping, foot shaking/tapping or picking/scratching) terrible conversation filters if nervous, extreme pessimism in a stressful situation and compulsion when grocery shopping.
