Hey everyone. I suppose I will start this one. I vow to workout 5 days a week for an hour. I deserve an hour a day, right? A happy mom/wife makes a happy house. I plan to do light weights with the workout that Adam made up for me MWF & just cardio on Tues. & Thurs. I am also cutting back calories to around 1400 calories over 5-6 meals a day. A meal can be a banana for a snack so it really isn't as bad as it sounds. I know that 1400 calories doesn't seem like much but it really is a ton of food if you make the right choices. My metabolism stinks from sitting in this chair all day & only eating two meals so it needs a boost. When I diet at 1200 calories I can usually lose about 10 pounds in a month. Being that this is holiday time I didn't want to be that strict & I want this to be a life change, not temporary. When we get pregnant I will increase the needed 300 calories. Since it has been awhile since I have done anything, I should see results just by starting to move. I can't wait. That view from the mirror this evening was scary!

So, have I convinced anyone to get started with me? I already have one accountability partner through the blog. She just kinda volunteered herself & I didn't even want anyone. It is much easier to cheat when you don't make a commitment to someone else. Oh yeah, I AM MAKING A COMMITMENT. I don't want to fail. Got it.

Ready to go. You with me?

I will jump in with you.  I have been losing weight since my daughter was born on October 31, 2008.  I am down 90 pounds.  That has fluctuated during the holidays but I guess that is to be expected.  I have put a way my scale for the month but I still work out hard about 5 days a week.  I run, do weights and zumba.  I love zumba!  It is a Latin dance fitness class and it is so much fun.

That is AMAZING! Way to go. You can email me directly if you want as well. Aimee@WomensMarriageMinistry.com.

How much more do you want to lose? I am so proud of you!

I want to lose about 20 more I think.  I really need to tone up my mid section.  I am just trying to get to where I feel and look healthy.  I am also training to run the Lexington Half Marathon in March.

That is great. I am glad to hear that you are so close. A half marathon...wow. I am NOT a runner but for some reason I have started thinking that I may want to do a half marathon in the future. Just to finish, not compete.

Are you doing any special diet plan?

I watch my calories, carbs, protein and fat.  I use a website called sparkpeople.com and it keeps track of what I should be taking in and how much I need to burn.  It also has a food journal that you enter everything into.  It's a great free resource. I just started running in April. I have run as far as 7.5 miles but I keep having set backs and haven't gotten good distance lately.

I lost about 15 pounds this past year.  Having back-to-back babies didn't do very good things for my body to say the least.  (I had 2 babies in almost exactly a year's time.)  I started doing Tae Bo in our basement last fall in the mornings and then started running 4-6 miles a day this summer.  I live in Nebraska, so it's difficult to run outside (today it's -11 with a windchill of -28) and I have to run on the treadmill---I really dislike that though.  I also do moderate lifting at least 2 times per week on a bowflex.  It's so hard to make time for yourself, but I have more confidence and haven't felt this good about my body since I was in college.  Keep it going ladies---We are Awesome!!  :)

Way to go Stevie.  I know what you mean about the treadmill.  I hate it but I do it.

I have a tv right in front of my face and jam out to my ipod and the minutes seem to last for hours sometimes.  I just refuse to give up the gains I made in the summer through the winter months because it will take so much work to get back to "running shape".  We'll have to keep pushing each other.  I'm scheduled for a treadmill run tomorrow--ick!!

That is awesome ladies. You guys are getting me pumped up! What is your favorite jam song to listen to while walking on the treadmill?

Stevie I know what you mean.  Running intervals is about the only thing on the treadmill that I can do without much complaint.  I am on the treadmill tonight before Zumba.

Aimee my favorite song to run to is "The Best Of You" by the Foo Fighters.  It just gets me pumped and makes me push a little harder.
