Staying Sane with a 3 and 1 Year Old

Started by Tamara , author of Blog Conference Guide For the UnExperienced 7/8/2010 9:03:27 AM

I now have a 3 and 1 year old. Need I say more? Such a challenge having those 2 ages together sometimes!

My 3 year old is going through the "terrible 3's" a lot. I heard if you didn't have it too bad during 2's (which we didn't), the 3's are usually worse. Definitely true for us. It's not all the time, but when he does get into his fits, they are amazing!

My 1 year old is going through horrible teething, a bit of frustration when he can't do things he wants to, and just trying to be more independent. When I only had 1, I embraced everything. But now with two, it seems so much more difficult.

So what have you done to navigate these 2 ages, alone or at the same time?

One day at a time! The 5 words that help me through just about anything. And the fact that my kids won't be that age forever. Soon they will be teenagers and NOT want to be around me at all.

At least they still want to cuddle me every once in a while.

Good luck! 3 and 1 is a HARD stage to deal with.
