A
refurbished making memories slicer. Looks like it makes die
cuts and embosses. Just wanted to pass it on in case someone
could use it! I love to scrap book, so I'm tempted
myself....just not sure I want to spend this much. Anyone
tried one before?

Anyone have any great tutorials or ideas for homemade gifts for my husband this year? There are so many great homemade gift guides out there this year, but there are very few gift ideas for men. Please send some ideas my way. I'd really appreciate it!

Painted Santa Ornament tutorial

One of our favorite activities to get ourselves ready for Christmas (like most of you) is to decorate our tree. A big part of this always includes looking over the many handmade items we have created over the years. While having all my decorations matching is tempting, it means so much more to my children (and to me) to add those items that we created together. We love to spend time around the holiday's crafting and feeling the spirit of the season. This is a great way to get your kids involved and help them spread that Christmas cheer!

	Painted Santa Ornament

To make the Santa you will need one medium size round ornament, paint (flesh color, white, black and red), Snow Tex by DecoArt, paintbrushes and if you want to add more details a Snow Writer by DecoArt.

Paint a flesh color rectangle on the front of the ornament. It will need at least two coats.

With the end of the paint brush handle make dots for the eyes and nose.

Mix the Snow Tex with a little white paint (about 3:1 ratio) to make it a bit thinner consistency. Paint down the sides of the flesh rectangle and around the top of the ornament.

When thinking about decorating for the holidays I like to keep things festive, but also meaningful. To make sure we have a constant reminder of why we are celebrating this season we hang an advent wreath from our ceiling and find a time during the week to light the candles and slow down in this busy time. The wreath makes a beautiful holiday decoration, while providing my family just a wee bit of focus.

It is also fun to countdown to Christmas with an Advent Calendar. The calendar not only builds some excitement it is a particularly festive decoration. Every year we try to create a new idea. This year we saved cans and spray painted them! I love how it turned out and my kids do too!

Now I'd love to know, how do you spread real cheer with your holiday decorating? Please reply below and unwrap coupons and deals from Sears by seeking inspiration in the Cheer Tree. For all your holiday decorating needs and solutions, don’t forget to visit Sears and discover real deals, real cheer!

Every Mom is a hero. I see it everyday. It's the Mom who was up all night with a sick child. The Mom who is on bedrest in the hospital doing whatever it takes to deliver a healthy baby, or the Mom doing homework with her child after a long day of work. It's all the Mom's {like you} who are always putting their children before themselves. It's always being in the middle of a juggling act, trying to keep all the balls in the air at the same time and wondering if your failing or succeeding. Most of us don't think of ourselves as a hero {I know I don't} yet we are a hero to someone, your child. It's obvious when they want it to be you they read to, or your the person they look for cheering them when they finally make that first goal!

Every Mom is a hero. Share your story

Perhaps you know a heroic mom or see one when you look in the mirror. Share your story and be entered for a chance to win $2,500 cash from Allstate. Plus four runner-ups will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card. *The five finalists will be chosen from the Entries receiving the most votes.

Last month Kenmore asked for my biggest household challenge (link to last months post). This month, I'm sharing my Genius Tip on how I overcame that challenge! Kenmore is on the search for everyday genius & each month they are giving away $3,000 in Kenmore gift certificates and a chance to have the best Genius Tip turned into an Ad! Enter your Genius Tip Today!

My biggest household challenge is getting dinner on the table now that I am working.

My longtime moto has been "use what you have." From redoing furniture to recycling items for craft projects I try to use what I have.

I relaized I have something that can help me with my household challenge!

	A teenage son

He agreed if he had a photo tutorial he would be able to help get dinner ready. We started with a simple skillet meal

	Skillet Spaghetti and Meatbals

In a very large skillet put in:

 1 - 28 oz Diced Tomatoes

 1 small can tomato paste

 2 1/2 cups water

	Next add

3 garlic cloves (peeled and pressed through the garlic press)

 1 teaspoon dried oregano

 1/2 teaspoon dried margaram

 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

 1 teaspoon salt

Bring sauce to a boil then immediately reduce heat to medium. Add in 12 ounces dried spaghetti. (Break spaghetti in half if it is longer than your skillet.

Add in pre-cooked frozen meatballs to the spaghetti and sauce.

Cover skillet and simmer 8-10 minutes stirring frequently to keep spaghetti from sticking to the bottom of the skillet. Remove lid and finish cooking until spahetti is tender.

TaDah I got help getting dinner on the table and he is a bit more prepared to live on his own.

You can enter your Genius Tip into the Kenmore Contest (takes 5 minutes) on Facebook and ask your friends vote for you!
