And I don't mean the cleanliness
I took the boys to one of Z's friend's houses today for a play date. We live in a pretty middle class town so this has never been an issue. Today when we drove into the neighborhood I was in awe, these houses were huge. When we walked into the house O.M.G. this was a house that was easily 4 x's the value of my house. Normally that does not matter to me in the least. I don't care that I used to drive a Kia or that I clip coupons or that I'm frugal...ok, cheap, but I'm a little intimidated to have these particular parent's over to my house even though they are very down to earth and we seemed to hit it off pretty well (and the fact that their carpets were stained helped me feel more at ease). My little just under 1600 square foot house that's over 30 years old (although I do have over an acre) doesn't bother me but it feels inadequate compared to their house. I know that's wrong. I have never before and don't now want a larger house, in fact, we have an offer in on a smaller house (although newer by about 18 years).
I don't know, maybe I was just caught off guard since through talking with the dad I knew he was on disability and she worked in the framing department for Hobby Lobby, I wasn't expecting to walk into such a huge house in such a nice neighborhood.
