Best fat burning exercise?

Started by Arizona Mamma , author of Our Daze in the Desert 6/12/2010 7:38:45 PM

What do you do? Run? Bike?  What do you think works best?  After all this travel, and no exercise...I need to get in gear.

I just started Zumba! It's so much fun. I've been twice and I'm super sore, but at least I know it's doing something.

I have heard so much about that.  I haven't ever been one for organized exercize...but there is a first time for everything.  Right?

Tonia - I'm taking my first Zumba class on Wednesday!  I'm excited and not sure what to expect.

I need organized exercise otherwise I won't do it. I'm terrible.

Liz-you will love it! My first class was Wednesday. I didn't really know what to expect either. I had been putting it off for weeks, but I finally gave in and went. I'm so glad I did. Report back after your class!

I've got to do something to burn some fat.  But, am so lazy! I really like swimming, but it doesn't burn that much fat does it?

Tonia, if you are sore, take 500mgs of ginger.  You can get it at GNC.  Also, bromelain 3 times a day, not at meal time.  It's an enzyme from pineapple and it aids in digestion and is a natural anti inflammatory.

I started(for a short time) lifting weights with a trainer earlier this year.  The first week, I literally could not get my arms up to wash my hair. I was taking 800mg of ibuprofen and still not functioning.  Someone suggested this combo, I took it in the late afternoon and a couple of hours later, I had no soreness at all.  It was amazing!

Good tip Lula! I typically don't like the "organized exercise" route either AM! My sister is wanting to start running so I told her I'd do the couch to 5k program with her starting this Monday. Jeremy runs over 3 miles every morning and wants me to run with him. I doubt that will ever happen though, he runs way fast. We'll see I guess.

I will have to try that. I didn't realize how sore I was until my second class. That sucker kick my trash! I just took a nice hot shower and it helped some.

I've been trying to start P90x, so that's been alright. I usually just stick to running and soccer though.

I am a Beachbody Coach because I love their workouts. I'm currently doing P90X too, and in one week I'm noticing changes.

I think you need to find what you enjoy doing and stick with it. For some people they love the outdoors, so running is perfect, but for others structure and indoor air conditioning works best. Like what you do and you will not stop.

I guess biking is good for fat burning.
