Healthy Family in 2012

Started by Shera , author of A Frog In My Soup - Life as a Mom with 6 Sons 1/6/2012 11:47:09 AM

We all want our families to be healthy and happy, but that's much easier said than done!

This year at A Frog In My Soup we're going to talk about family and women's health a lot, but I wanted to know if anyone else is implementing changes in your lives to help your family be healthier this year?

Stopping over from the BlogFrog Community Hop! I was JUST talking to my husband about how silly it is that I continue to feed my body unhealthy things and don't workout when essentially both of those things would help me to live LONGER.

It's interesting how we rationalize behavior that is so unhealthy for us. I'm ready for a fresh start for sure!

I'm here from the BlogFrog Community Hop! I'm a firm believer that health and happiness go hand in hand, and this year, I definitely want to make an effort to be more active and eat healthier meals. In the past, I've made tons of excuses and I allow myself to get overwhelmed, but this year, I'm taking it a day at a time and making sure I appreciate how fun making these small, but positive changes can be!

We've spent the last few years going more and more raw BUT when you have a hard time one seems to resort back to what you knew as a child (hmmm, train up a child in the way he should go... think this applies to diet too.) Well last year was tough so we slipped right back into shop bread - LOTS of it and shop spreads for lunch. So this year as part of our schooling we'll be focusing on our lunches and how we can make them more natural and more healthy. The idea being that we'll blog on it as we go. So we'll see by Feb how we doing ;)

Thank you so much for sharing ladies! I know a lot of families are realizing that there's much healthier options out there than what the SAD (standard American diet) has to offer!

Castle: I love that idea! What a brilliant way to get your whole family involved in learning about eating healthier.... and the best part is they are more likely to be open to it since they are so involved in the process!
