Copying recipes

Started by trooppetrie , author of Troop Petrie 3/28/2011 7:46:48 AM

I love to find new recipes. I have found several on blogs. actually I get most of them from blog  carnivals.

I normally will leave a note on someone's blog if I am going to copy it to my blog and then change how it is worded. But recently I saw someone post that she would prefer you not use her recipes because she hopes to make money from her blog one day. I totally think she has a right to do this and am NOT upset. She was not even speaking to me.

But it made me re think what I do. So my question is how do you know when it is okay to copy a recipe and post on your blog. And by copy I mean not exactly but same ingredients and with your own pictures.

I guess i always assumed if it was on your blog it was up for grabs. What are your suggestions and how do you copy a recipe. I think for now if I see a recipe i will go to google and find the same recipe instead of using the blogs recipe. Although I love linking back to blogs
