How are you frugal with school fund raisers?

Started by Carla 10/16/2010 3:01:19 PM

I have two children in public school who come home with several fund raisers a year(for school or sports).   I want to support my children and feel bad not buying "everything", but here I am cutting coupons and saving however I can and they are sent home with another fundraiser (we've had 6 so far this year).   For example, selling cookie dough at $15 a tub which I can make for much less.   We do what we can, but sometime I feel it is too much especially for the kids.   How do you handle this?

Carla - you jinxed me, and I had to start laughing. My husband came home from the office today with a tub of $15 not so yummy cookie dough. ! "Building relationships," he replied. :) HAHAHAH. I think it's all your fault....laugh

So? Hmm....I may not be the one to ask. I typically don't support many expensive fundraisers or if you don't want to be cheap, instead of giving $15 for $2 cookie dough, you could just donate $5??? I do the first person that asks and then lets the others know that I already supported their cause.

Donating is a great oppotunity to give back what we recieved.
