Did Groups Go Away?

Started by Learning2Coupon , author of Learning 2 Coupon 1/1/2012 2:52:23 PM

Am I blind today or can you no longer start groups within your community?  It'd be too bad if this is gone, we had big plans for that!

Hi!  We currently have hidden groups because we haven't seen active groups get established.  We too feel like there is a need, but currently the solution must not be sufficient because the groups that have been established are not active.  Do you have any ideas about what is missing?  You can see groups still live here http://mycharmingkids.net/community/#/104191/groups

Okay, but active groups on that group isn't going to help me with the three groups we were hoping to move off of Facebook and integrate with our new community.  Is there a way to "unhide" them since this was a HUGE selling point for installing the community and right now I look like I'm the one who doesn't know what she's talking about because they aren't there?

Sorry if it seems like I'm being a pest, but I have someone who was willing to create a BF community because the last time I had been in the admin area, I was able to create a group. Now, it's been "hidden" and I am looking like I don't know what I'm talking about because we can't get a group started and I can't get an answer on if there's a way around it. Is there somewhere else I should be asking????

You can still create the groups :P You just have to know how to get to the page!

After seeing this post I went and looked for my groups. They were all still there...but like Rustin said, no one was using them. I deleted them and may try again in the future.

I can see how it would benefit your page to have one Learning2Coupon.

And do YOU know? Would it be possible to enlighten me since no one else seems to have gotten that far into helping?

Ok lessee if I can explain this w/out confusing you :P

Log into your community. Go to a group (any one will do). Click on the admin drop down in the sidebar. Click manage group. At the top (the "breadcrumb" line) click groups. And there ya go :) Add/edit/etc. Have fun!

PERFECT!!!!  I was able to go to my own community (that has a group) and copy the part of the URL that is the group magic!  NOW, let's show Rustin that groups CAN work well! :D

You have no clue how much you just made my night! Thank you doesn't cover it!

I do, actually! Is there a way to change the settings of a group so people who are interested can request to join but they have to be approved?

If this isn't available, I would say that's one thing that's "missing" since Rustin was asking about what's missing in his response to me.
