help- spammy trackbacks left on my site, what do I do?

Hi, I am looking for help or advice. I just found in my mailbox like a hundred notices that one IP address left track-backs for about a hundred different posts on my blog.  It has to be automated...not comments but trackbacks, like they linked or commented about them at their website.  Will this affect my google rank? It looks spam-ish. How do I block this IP address?  I have heard you can do that, but I am looking around on my dashboard and can't figure it out.  I have a thesis theme, WP self-hosted.

I just migrated over to WP from blogger a few months ago, I am still a newbie.

thanks.

Ok so you have a self hosted Wp site so there are a couple of things that you can do.

FIrst, make sure that you approve all comments/trackbacks  on your blog.  That helps.

A couple of plugins that I use for spam are:

SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam

Akismet
