Brittany, I love all of your advice and I was hoping you can come by my site and give me some pointers. Thanks so much in advance!

Wow- I just came across your community and decided to check out the blog post. It is chock-full of great information and I can't wait to see the rest of the series. I have signed up to follow it.  I am not wanting to spend money on the blog, even for its own domain name. However, is there a way to buy a domain name and keep the blog where it is (not have to import/export stuff)?- have the old address linked directly to the new one?

Also, I hear people say WP is more customizable- but it seems that Blogger also has options for customization/blog design, etc. What are your thoughts, if any.

I just started a couple months ago and have been overwhelmed with so many beautiful blogs/designs. I would like to keep a similar theme but maybe with some variety of colors (but I do like how the colors are not so busy).  If you feel inclined, I would love to hear what you think about it. I was thinking that some of the things on my sidebars could go on either another page or tabs.

(I am having a technical problem right now with my sidebar not showing up when the homepage is viewed- only on individual posts can the sidebar be seen.) So main page is http://homestyleworldcook.blogspot.com    and one of my posts that will show you sidebars (all the components) is http://homestyleworldcook.blogspot.com/2011/02/bacalaitos-codfish-fritters.html

Looking forward to more good info,  Sarah
