Book to movie...

What books do you think would make really, really great movies?

I think the Lord of the Rings and Narnia adaptations in particular have been really great. What adaptations have been your favorites?

Yes, LOTR and the Narnia series both make excellent movies, and I'm waiting with baited breath for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader film coming out soon. :)

One book I've always thought would make a great movie is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. And to my delight, just yesterday I discovered that a mini-series is being made for it.

I remember the first time I saw a Narnia trailer in the theater, I was bouncing up and down in my seat. I am such a nerd, I was so excited.

The Earth's Children books would make an amazing series.  But, they would be hard to do right.

Jessica, who writes that series and what is it about?

LOTR and Narnia were great! I loved the film adaptations of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and The Blind Side. The HBO miniseries John Adams, based on David McCullough's book of the same title, is supposed to be good also. And of course all the Jane Austen movie versions. smiley
