Tabbing My Bible... do you do that?

Started by Kelly , author of Christian Women Blogging 8/7/2010 5:34:12 PM

I'm putting stickie tabs on my comparative study bible - what a job!  So painstaking...

Do you you use tabs?  Do you have any favorite ways to get to know your way around your bible?

Oh my mom has had those tabs for years, and it makes it so much easier.

My favorite app for my iPhone so far is the one from YouVersion.com I don't open my actual Bible anymore. I carry my phone everywhere, and read constantly it seems.

I love how I don't need to sing the books of the Bible songs that I learned as a kid to find the passage that I'm looking for.

Honestly I have to do that with each bible I get.. It is a boring task but I really like it better than sittinh in church trying to find the book the minister is in

In jr high for Bible Sword Drills we used to call those "Cheater Bibles".  lol

I'm not sure I like tabs on mine.  Although  I found some post-it type tabs that were removable and I did like using them as bokmarks.

I use the post it tabs to mark pages and such.  I also just use strips of pink paper to mark places in there as well.  I want to get some of the tabs really badly though.  I'm waiting to find this study Bible that a girl at my Church has before I get the tabs and put them on there though.

Tabs are great !  I have been a teacher in Christian Schools and I often recommended that for my students. I see Jennifer mentioned something about sword drills, another excellent idea.

Speaking of sword drills; let me tell you ... the best way I got to know my way around the Bible was to "participate" in those sward drills with my students.  I HAD TO KNOW MY WAY AROUND!  They would say "Mrs. Williams, I'm gonna beat you this time".  I must admit I had one student in all my years of teaching that I could not beat.  He is the King of the Sword Drill and was able to keep the trophy all year.  WOW, that brings back such fun, fun, fun memories.  Thanks for the topic Kelly!

I love my Bible tabs. When I first started Bible study I thought they would just prove my ignorance, but I could fake my way through the tabs much more quickly than shuffling through the pages. They were a lifesaver.

I can find my way around much better after fifteen years of Bible studies, but I still greatly appreciate having the quick flip of a tab.

I don't tab but I do underline and highlight.

I used to tab my bible, but I use my bible so much that I pretty much know where each book is.  Plus I love searching the bible for the books, never know when Scriptures will jump out at you and tug at your heard strings.
