Prayer Break: Father God, I Choose You

Started by Kelly , author of Christian Women Blogging 7/28/2010 10:18:41 AM

Father, today I choose You.

I choose to spend a bit of time with you over spending that time wandering aimlessly around Facebook.

I'm sorry that I've squandered so many hours doing nothing when I could have been praying or reading my bible or encouraging a sister in need.

Help me to hear your voice when I have time to kill and use it to serve your purposes instead.

Thank you!

I love this - I completely get what you are saying but can't help thinking of the verse:

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. (John 15 : 16).

It's great that you feel drawn to God today but this is not because YOU willed it but because HE willed it. He chose you and is drawing you to Him.

Having said that, again I totally get what you are saying and whole heartedly agree!yes

I think the reason why we were able to choose God is merely because He has chosen us in the first place.

However, He gave us that "free will" to respond... :)

"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD" ~Joshua 24:15 (niv)

Still, every choice we can make is only by His grace ^.^
