My oldest two girls (5 & 3) are really starting to fight constantly about EVERYTHING. Any solutions to tame it down some?

When my two oldest would fight I would make them immedietely hug.  It wasn't an option and after several times of doing this, they got it.  Not that they never fought but there was a lot of hugging going on.  We also sometimes made them sit next to eachother very close on the couch until they could come to an agreement on whatever they were arguing about.

Good luck!

That is a great idea! Looks like "Hug-A-Palooza" is going to be going on around here.

We have two great charts we use from doorposts.com and they are rewarded for good behaviour such as kindness and we have all agreed on certain punishments(removing a privelege, etc.) for bad behaviour such as teasing, unkidnness.

My two older girls are the same age.  Love the tips!

i'm a whistle-blower! with 3 boys- when the fighting starts, i can't be heard until i end up screaming above the clatter- therefore... the whistle! coach mom- it stops them in their tracks & while i have their attention i can sweetly say..."now boys, do you need my help resolving this or do you think you can work it out yourselves?"

they know that my help could involve time out or quiet time so they generally go ahead and work it out peacefully!

I have some of the same issues as Adventures. lol. When they're all talking/fighting at once (I have 4 - 2 boys, 2 girls) I find myself yelling over them about yelling. *sigh* not cool.

Maybe I need to get a whistle! & I am definitely going to try the hugging thing. heheh. My girls are 6 & 5. I wonder what they'll think about that. :)

This is where I give you a list of "no-nos" You see, I am a mom and quite frankly am tired of the "No-No" bit. Use what is supposed to be common...common sense, common courtesy; we will get along just fine.
