I'm so sorry I didn't respond back before now. It's my really busy season.
As for the craft fairs, I'm very particular in the venues I chose right now. I go to the company sponsored "boutiques", local business sponsored (read free) street fairs, and through our senior center, and I'll start doing parks and recs events this spring. None of them have fees over $35 and at least one donates gives your booth check to the charities directly, so tax write off. It's a sure bet that I'll make at least my fees back. And I figure that $35 is very inexpensive advertising, plus I'm spreading awareness on reusable green products.
lol Long winded way of saying:
1. contact your parks and recs dept
2. ask around to your other crafty friends/vendors
3. When you do a fair, draw the eye vertically. If your stuff is laying flat, it doesn't attract the eye=no interest. You should have risers on your table and items behind you at eye level. Those should be your cathchiest items.
I hope that helps.
