Legitimate working from home companies

Started by Suzy , author of So this is what Mommyhood is like? 10/10/2011 10:03:16 PM

I just started researching working from home and curious on how to know which ones are legit and reliable.  Does anyone have a list of companies or sites for resources?  Anywhere from virtual assistants to online researching is what I have been looking for.  Any information is welcomed and greatly appreciated!

Also if you could let me know what do you do?  How do you balance work and home?  How long have you been working from home?  What would you say is the most important factor to making it successful?

Thank you!!!

I have been working from home as a Professional Makeup Artist for the last 11 years.  It's been great but I can only really create a part-time income.  I even published a makeup book this year and again, I still haven't replaced my income when I worked corporate.  So 6 months ago, I joined a company called Visalus, I just qualified for a free BMW and am earning a really good part-time income.  I plan to replace and surpass my full-time salary in the next few months.  If you'd like more info, I am happy to share it with you.  Working from home is amazing, but it does take dicipline and dedication.  I wouldn't have it any other way!!  I hope you find what you are looking for.  Warmest, Nicki

When I was searching; I wanted to find something that had elite credentials and that's been in business quite awhile. I tried a few things and researched a lot over 4-5 yrs. I work with ameriplan; my website with info is www.freedomathometeam.com/davia   once you enter the site I have a full career overview; we offer two positions, daily pay, full benefits, etc.     We are service based; so we dont sell prodcuts or do home parties. On the side I d scentsy just because I love their products: www.davianewman.scentsy.us

Both of these I do 100% from home; just find something you are very passionate about! That is my main advice; there are a lot of great companies out there; decide if you want to d parties or do you like doing more office style stuff at home. If you are a mom; you could work after the children are asleep or when they're napping. I have no prob fitting my work into my schedule since I do it all online. Ive been working from home on and off for 4-5 yrs and I found the companies Im with now this year and have enjoyed it ever since.

You want to make sure they have credentials as D'Avia mentioned. Do your research on the company, make sure they have a stable training in place so that you can learn the business. Check out who the leaders are too.

A lot of credible companies offer work at home employment these days. Some companies that that offer employment from home are Apple, Amazon's Virtual Call Center, Live Ops, West at Home, and Home Shopping Network. You can  read more info about work at home companies in this work at home guide . Hope that it'll be beneficial to you.
