Weight Loss, Continued.

Hey All!  I thought that I would bring the weight loss conversation over here.

What are you weight loss suggestions?

I am thinking about doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred....she kind of scares me, but hey....that might be what I need.

I have also been monitoring more closely my water intake, and I force myself to drink at least 64 oz of water before indulging in soda, juice, etc.

Are you trying to loss weight?  How are you starting out?

I think weighing in with a friend really helps. I weigh in with my mom once a week at her house and we keep track of it. My main thing I've done is watch my portions and cut out junk food...I do indulge in "something" once a week.

I haven't been doing very good since the holidays and haven't weighed in since before Christmas and I'm scared of what that scale is going to say this Wednesday when I go weigh in because I haven't been a very good girl.

I did the 30 day shred and really hurt my foot. Let's just say a lot of jumping up and down isn't good on the feet for a girl as "large and in charge" as I am LOL

I do terrible with water and I usually only end up exercising once or twice on a good week.

I lost 27 pounds and gained back most of it now so I really have to get it together!

Good luck with your weight loss. It's tough but we can do it.

That is a very good idea.  Having someone else keep you accountable is a great thing!  My hubs is very support of me, and keeps me in line.

You hurt your foot on the 30 Day Shred?  Another blogger said that she hurt her knee....yikes!  It sounds dangerous.  Hopefully I don't get an injury, I don't have the time.  Lol.

Good luck to you as well ;o)  Let me know how you are progressing, I would LOVE to hear about it!!!

Yes I hurt my foot. My shoes are a bit worn out, my advice is to wear very supportive shoes because there is a lot of jumping jacks and jump rope in the first level. I really thought I had a stress fracture, was heavily contemplating going to the doctor and get an xray but they it started to feel better.

I did the Wii Fit for 30 minutes today so that's at least something. The bad news is...since the last time I did the Wii Fit it said I had gained 11 POUNDS! YIKES.

Do you like the Wii Fit?  My MIL just got it for Christmas, but hasn't really tried it yet.  Are there a lot of good exercises?  It would be an expensive investment for us (since we would have to buy a Wii too, lol)....but I have seriously considered it.

I do like it. I'm not sure it could "replace" a regular workout but it is a great addition to your workouts if that makes sense. I love the yoga portion of it. The little balance games are kind of fun, your kids are too young but when they are older they'd probably like to play those games. My favorite thing is that it tracks and charts my weight for me and it's good for days when I can't get to the gym for whatever reason.

Is it worth the money? Only if you were planning on playing other games on your wii and would get enough use out of it. My hubby won't do wii fit...to girly apparently (???? LOL) But he will play punch out and other boxing games which gives him a decent workout so your hubby may like stuff like that too.

How did things go today?

I didn't over eat at all today but I haven't worked out yet...we'll see. It may be a wii fit kind of night ;)

Today, well....  I am almost done with my water (about 8 oz to go).  I worked out for 15 minutes (my little man would not NAP!), and eating well, not so well.  I have Hershey Kisses calling my name from Christmas.  Haha.  So, I figure once they are gone they are gone.  Terrible I know, I should just throw them out.

Way to go not over eating!  That is definitely my downfall today.  :(

Hi. I'm just gonna jump in on your conversation. Back in July I exercised five times a week but doing simple things like crunches, whatever those things are called when you lay on your back and hold your feet 6 in. off the floor (very hard to do), and jumping jacks. I weighed 183 to start with and doing that for a straight month I lost 25lbs. I now weigh 163. I lost my motivation when I finally checked my weight. Through the whole month I told my self I was not on a diet, I figured if I said I was on a diet it would be much harder to do, and I had a goal of not weighing myself because I knew as soon as I would I would lose my motivation and I did. I would love to get to at least 140. I would love to start exercising again but I just don't have the motivation. I started eating more fruits and veggies and started eating wheat bread and I still ate whatever I wanted I just limited my portions. I'm not really big on junk food. Things like snack cakes never enter my pantry. I don't allow my kids to eat junk food either. Also I have a really hard time drinking water. It always makes me sink to my stomach. But I'll try to drink water inbetween each can of pop :)

So if you don't mind I would like to join you ladies at trying to lose weight. Jennifer I know exactly how you feel my first two kids were born exactly one year apart. Both were born on July 13. That makes losing weight so much harder and I never lost that weight. Before I had my first child I weighed 128lbs. Boy would I love to be that weight again. So starting tomorrow I will start exercising again. I don't do the whole counting calories thing either. I will post what I eat. Which usually isn't much.  Tomorrow's dinner is supposed to be hot ham and cheese subs on whole wheat bread with french fries. I'll limit my fries and add some fruit to it.

Shawna,

Thank you so much for jumping in on our conversation.  ;o)

You weight loss last summer is fantastic!  I am jealous, I could only dream of losing 25 lbs in a month.  That's awesome!

We all lose our motivation, but you did a GREAT job with losing weight.

How old are your kiddos?  How is it having two little ones so close together?  It is definitely easier than I anticipated, obviously it still have it's struggles....but definitely rewarding.

I am so glad that you are joining us on  this journey....it will be a difficult one I am sure.  But, we will eventually get there.

Good luck, and I can't wait to see how we all end up doing.

Right now my older two are 9 and 8. It was very difficult. My older one was jealous. And it seemed like everytime I got one down for a nap the other one would start crying and wake the other one back up. But once they got aliitle bigger it got much easier. My younger two children are 3 and 1.

I'm gonna go back to what I said before and not weigh myself. I don't want to get excited again if I do lose some more weight and quit and I don't want to be disappointed if I don't lose anything either.

Good luck to you guys too.

Shawna,

Sorry it took me so long to comment back.  Yesterday (and today) are crazy....lol.  We have been running around like mad for a couple months now, and I can't wait for life to slow down.

I am definitely in the once you lay one down the other one wakes up stage.  Lol.  It passes right?  ;o)

Way to go jumping on the weight loss "band wagon"!  Best of luck!
