My all-time, hands-down favorite movie is
The Major and the Minor.
It's from the 40s and stars Ray Milland and Ginger Rogers. I love it! Ginger plays a girl who tries to make her way in New York. When that fails, she packs up to move back to Iowa...only she doesn't have enough money for train fare. She creates a scheme and dresses like a 12-year-old to get the half-fare price. She runs into Ray Milland and trouble along the way, winding up at a military school for boys. It's a hilarious romantic comedy!
