Have you ever used one? I am using one for the first time in a shoot tomorrow. I tried playing with it today and it's VERY different from anything I'm use to. Any tips??

I just got my first macro lens this week, and I can't wait to get to grips with it!

I can already tell that it's very different from what I'm used to - and I had the same autofocus issues as Kimberly, which kind of gives me hope that it's an issue with the lens, not an issue with me...!

Looking forward to reading any tips that come in :)

Well, it was a flop for the shoot. I definitely need more practice.

Kimberly which lens did you exactly use? Those shots are beautiful!!

Manual focus - that was the first thing I learned when I shot with a macro lens.  That thing couldn't set during an auto focus and it was driving me crazy.  Otherwise, I've had great luck with it.

I second the manual focus with a macro.  I also always take multiple shots! Your focus changes so easily with macro, that multiple shots usually ensures at least onehas the focus exactly where i want it!
