Any Sony Alpha users?

Hi, I have a Sony A330. I'm still using the stock lense that came with it, but want to upgrade. I wanted to get some recommendations and opinions from you guys.

I mostly photograph my kiddos and pets. I'm not good, but I'm learning and getting there.

Also, what's the secret in shooting in Manual? I'm good shooting in the Aperature and Shutter modes.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kimberly, thank you so much! I thought I was doing something wrong because I didn't know how to control the exposure on Manual Setting, which is why I always use Aperature mode!

OK..so the lenses, are the Sigma lenses cheaper than Sony or just better?
