Introducing the MOD Squad

Started by Amy , author of Girlfriends Get Real 4/27/2010 8:53:37 AM
Are you a member of the MOD Squad? No, I am not talking about the TV show from the sixties. I am talking about being a Mother Of Daughters.

My house is full of a lot of Sugar and a little too much spice. I have a 9, 7 & 4 year old in this house and I am struggling a bit in raising them.

I could use a group of other women to band together and raise our girls together.

Take some time to introduce yourself here. If you are on twitter, use the hashtag #modsquad. What is your biggest struggle in raising girls in your house?

Am I allowed in here? LOL. Just picking! I do have 4 children but only one daughter. And let me tell you, she is the hardest to raise! Us gals are hard creatures to be reckoned with! haha! I think this is awesome! I'm ready to join in! My daughter is 7 yo. She just told me yesterday "Mama, Noah touched my shoulder today." All giddy and smiling ear to ear. Oh dear Lord, help me!!!! She's only 7!

I have a 4 year old daughter (and a 2 year old son) - she is a delight but I already dread her turning 12! :)  Ah, the drama already!

As a woman who has been wrestling through Biblical femininity for years, I am burdened to pass truth to my little girl.  I want her to not only be pure, but to be well-grounded in what the Bible says about her as a woman and that her worth is found in Christ alone.

I guess I'm more on the MOS Squad? (Ok, that just sounds wrong...)

The boys outnumber the girls in my house. We make up for it by being louder.

I have two daughters. They are 5 (today!) and 6 (soon to be 7). I have been watching #mobsociety on Twitter and wondered if there was a place for those of us with girls! I'm so glad to see this!

Gotta run! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I'm in!!  :)

I think one thing rings true for all of us. We need each other. I would love to see some discussion about boundaries, etc. I love to hear ideas from other moms on how to make it through all the drama, etc. with girls in the house.

the name alone require that I MUST join :D

I have a 4 yr old daughter and a 13 yr old son.... I had NO IDEA kids could be difficult until I had my girl. Every day its a new challenge, she is quite 'spirited as they say.

I'm on twitter @modchik !

Here you are! I'm still figuring out this Blog Frog thing. I guess I'm still old school internet. Feel like Twitter is still new and now we have THIS.

Okay, I have four daughters and they are 11, 9, 8, and 6. I am a Drama Mama. There are days I treasure them to pieces and days I wonder what in the world God has done here. I don't even know how to french braid.

I'm a teensy bit nervous about the coming years. Okay, I'm a lot nervous. I've got issues from my past I really don't want to replicate with my girls. I need extra grace.
