Do you even remember recess? Lord that was a very (I mean VERY) long time ago. If I can think back that far, to ..hum, what grade would that be? 3rd? 4th? Wasn't recess the only period that you both feared and rejoiced? At least I did. Would I get picked for the wrong dodge ball side (worse game ever!) or would I be left alone to chat with my girlfriends. Either way, It was just some fun time to get away from History class. (And secretly I loved school)
I do remember the playground we had at my elementary school in Ohio, eek. If it is still there; it needs some serious extreme makeover love. I am pretty sure any and all lethal paint chips, or mold, are taking over that one.
I wish we could give all kids a great playground to escape to and just have a little fun.
What is your recess memory?
In the past twenty years, children have lost an average of 8 hours of recess a week.
