Recently my mom purchased me a Nook Color and I could not be more excited. Not just for myself, but for my kids too. I love to read, and I always wanted my girls to pick up on that. I am one of those that lays in bed under the covers with a book and flash light trying to finish a chapter. One night i vowed to not sleep till i finished Breaking Dawn (yea a twilight book). It took me 3 days but I did it.
I wish i could say the same for my daughters. My oldest has some trouble reading and will be doing some summer school again this year. Its purely out of voluntary action, but I figure you can never have too much schooling and being prepared for 3rd grade ahead of time will help. I passed down my collection of Nancy Drew book, thinking she would totally be into them as myself. Sadly, no. She, instead, is into this series i never heard of but purchased a few of; Fly Guy. She loves those darn books!
No matter what, I am just thank full shes reading something. It could be a cereal box and I would be excited. Now that we have the Nook Color (which I can't stress enough is perfect for any age), Its so easy to download a book for Ariel and watch it read to her, or download one for Jas and see her so intent on sounding out the words. For me, this summer brings on a new Ghost Hunters book! No sleep for a few more days right?
