Morning Routines

Started by Veronica @ A Quiet Heart , author of A Quiet Heart... 6/30/2010 8:42:37 AM

What (if any) is your family's morning routine?

I am just curious because I/we have tried out several variations over the past few years, but I typically come back to the same one...I'd love to know what works for you!

Moms, do you get up before your children?
Do you spend time with the Lord early in the day...during the kids' naptime...before bed?
Does everyone get dressed and ready for the day immediately, or is it more dependant on the day's activities (or lack thereof)? :)

I know it is summer, so schedules and routines may be a bit different because of that, but what does a typical morning in your home look like...for you, the kids, or the whole fam?

Our morning routine has had many changes recently, due to activities/lack of activities, and the whole never knowing how I'm going to feel thing. But lately Jordan comes in to wake me at 7am, we go down and have b-fast, I do as much cleaning as I can, Jordan colors. Usually my quiet time is during her nap, after my nap. She has "nap time"/quiet time from 2-5ish, so I get an hour nap in the beginning, then do my quiet time, and spend time doing "me stuff" until she wakes up, or comes down at 5. So I guess that's more of my "all day" routine. It gets switched up here and there when we have plans, appts, company, etc. As far as getting dressed, lately it's been a "whenever we feel like it" kind of thing. :) And I'm sure it will change once again when the new baby comes. Lately I've been trying to find the balance between my home obligations, and taking care of my body/the baby. I seem to have pain when I work too much around the house, so the result has been a very messy house which drives me wild.
