Do you have big birthday parties for your kids?

Started by The Healthy Moms Magazine , author of The Healthy Moms Magazine 8/20/2010 11:56:38 AM

Do you hold big birthday parties for your children or do you have small ones? Are birthdays important in your family?

We don't celebrate my birthday or my husbands. Sometimes we will go out to dinner to celebrate them but that is about it. His birthday is the day after mine so we usually celebrate them together.

Our childrens' birthday parties are generally small. We usually only invite family and maybe one or two close friends.

How do you celebrate birthdays?

We always have a family party for my kids. but they get to choose each year if they want a friend party or not.  Usually if they do it's just 3 or 4 friends.  And I keep it very low key.  My daughter's birthday is coming up and we're just having her friends meet at the park for a few hours.  We'll have cupcakes and juice and play a few games and then they can just have fun on the playground for a while.  I don't even usually do treat bags for the guests (is that horrible?)
