Baker's Out Reach

Ok...I have a baking problem I need help with. So, I am casting it out to the universe for resolution:

Can you save/freeze and then reuse merginue buttercream and if so, how do you bring it back to life. I have tried several times to resurrect some left over frosting and it never works. Is that because it is not supposed to?
