I guess it depends on what kinds of things he likes. Maybe a DVD collection of his favorite TV show? A new watch? Tickets to a sporting event?

The fun is trying to get creative with the choices that are given. On our second my husband bought me a pair of my favorite pjs..and we plant the flower of every year too.

And if it's too much work, maybe try it for next year. I like what Lis suggested.

Picnic dinner out somewhere?

Photo album of you two (a number of places can do these in one hour, including WalMart),

something special from the baby?

Line family (if possible) up for 2 hours when baby is a couple of months old, like an IOU for mini-date-night?

I think I might combine a few of these.  Like the picnic dinner( especially with the weather cooling now).  Perfect for it.

And, perhaps something small from the traditional list.

I got him a small video game, for his DS, which he has been wanting for a while, but I wanted to do something more interesting and fun too.  Thanks to you guys, I will!

My hubby has never been one to celebrate special occasions, so after 25 years I have slowly moved to his side.

We try to go to dinner for our anniversary and give each other a card. For our 25th we did go out of town and I surprised him with a Christmas/25th Anniversary gift (our anniversary is Jan 5) by having his father's recliner reupholstered for him. Even my MIL liked it!
