Cheerios #4 8/31

Started by Carrie , author of LipstickRocks Blog 8/31/2010 11:12:50 AM

Seriously. I love Cheerios.  I cannot imagine life without them! They are timeless. I choose them over Lucky Charms and Cap'n Crunch. I realize this is food and after consumed no longer exists. But, this childhood staple has never disappointed- So, the question I am posing is this: What is your 'timeless treasure'? (Something- anything that has 'grown up' with you and is still your preference today)

Love Cheerios too, but Cap'n Crunch is my all time favorite and it can't be flavored like the peanut butter one, it has to be the original. Cap'n Crunch was my pregnancy craving.  I'd wake up at all hours of the night and eat it by the bowlful.

So what's your favorite flavor of Cheerios?  Mine is Honey Nut.

Does it have to be cereal? If not, mine is frozen mini sized Nestle Crunch bars. My mom used to buy them and put them in the freezer. Still my favorite sweet treat today!

Hi Jamie!

Haha, no it doesn't have to be a cereal. I had just snacked on some dry Cheerios when the thought hit me- so I created the discussion. What a great idea! Mini frozen Netsles :)

Red,

I like Corn Flakes too, but have not had them in so long! They are good :)

As far as cereal goes, my timeless classic has got to be Rice Krispies.  That's something I ate as a child and will still have once in a while now.  So many other things I enjoyed as a child I've had to let go over the years.

Bananas have to be another one of those things I grew up with and it's still a must-have.

For me, it's not about the cereal but about the milk!  As a kid, I loved canned milk on my cereal.  Still a treat to this day.  Ha ha.  Grosses some people out but I was born in the day when canned milk and Karo syrup was used to make formula for the baby.  I assume that is why I love it so much.  Now days it is just an occasional treat.

Marlene, my mom doesn't eat cereal often, but when she does it is with a little canned milk.  She hates regular milk.
