Do you let media hype stop you?

Do you let media hype stop you or frighten you away?  Do you take the hype to heart or are you like me and believe that the media and people in general blow things way out of proportion, run with one incident and make a mountain out of a mole hill?

I think the media blows things way out of proportion to just get ratings. I also think the media is no longer unbiased. They are VERY biased and slant the news so badly, I don't even know what is truth and lies any more.

I agree with you 100%.  Sadly, the public is so eager to jump on the bandwagon and condemn and twist and judge, even if they don't have the full story.  I find it utterly ridiculous that anyone would believe that one incident on the LIRR would depict the norm.  Come on.

What is that? I actually don't watch the news. I get it from Alyssa and my Mom.

No, not that I can think of.

I don't allow the media to influence my thoughts or actions one bit.

I do however use the media as a starting point to find out the latest news and what's going on today.

I prefer to think for myself and not let the media do it for me. The mainstream media has gone too far too many times in editorializing but disguise it as news reporting. There is a HUGE difference between the two.

I watch very little news on television. I get a few newsfeeds in my Facebook to keep up with important happenings.
