Started by Rustin , author of Rustin Banks - Unplugged 12/9/2010 12:25:37 PM

We just sent out a very special BlogFrog newsletter, one we've wanted to do for a long time.

No fancy graphics, no promotions, just a honest and open letter from me to you, our 50,000 bloggers (and many more users!)

We'll share a little of our story (how this all started), and ask for a favor - we want your help in growing BlogFrog from 50,000 to 5 Million!

So watch your inbox, and we'll talk soon!  You can reply below, or you can start a new discussion!  Thanks so much.

I'll have to think about mktg ideas. I will say this - I asked about a message menu for BF profiles and it only took you guys a couple of weeks to implement it! I Love It!!! All of my new followers now get a message from me.

I'll think on the marketing vein. I'd love to be a part of it, even if it's just by commenting on BF each day! By far, my favorite forum!!

Hey Rustin- Blog Frog continues to rock my world. So thanks for all the work you guys do on it! My community Mom Loop has grown a lot in the past few months!

My suggestion - or maybe I should say dream for Blog Frog would be a platform that supports video blogging! I'm a Vlogging enthusiast and I'd love to be able to start threads with a video question- and get others people video responses back if they wanted!

Not sure how hard it is to do that, I'm no techie. But I'd love Video Blogging on Blog Frog! If you ever want to do that, Mom Loop would love to be a Beta group for video on Blog Frog:)

Thanks!

Rustin,

My company, Changents.com is helping bloggers use their influence for social and environmental change.  For example, we have more than 300 bloggers who have embedded the P&G Give Health widget that is generating clean drinking water for people in need around the world. We have some ideas about working with BlogFrog to build applications that add a "cause layer" to blogs, irrespective of what the topic of the blog is about.  I'd love to discuss this with you!

Hi Rustin,

I think you could reach 5 million users by starting a referral program, where each referral enters you into a contest.  The contest winners could win a trip to a BlogFrog community convention in a warm-weathered vacation area where you can then learn from those successful blogging recruiters even more ways in which you can attract users.

More exposure on search engines! I find myself all of the time scouring search engines for blogs of a certain niche. If there was a more organized directory on Blog Frog then maybe when someone went to search on Google for "special needs blogs" (just an example) it would take them to this website with a list of all the bloggers here who fall under that niche. That would surely bring in some new members!

I am UK blogger and I would like to get involved. The UK is so far behind the curve. I have to admit though that I have really struggled to integrate blog frog onto my wordpress blog and I couldn't initiate my community page so if you want to use me as a step-by-step guide to how easy it is then I would love the support to show my how and also would help become a UK ambassador for Blog Frog. I work with a military communities mainly but again they are all fairly new to this.

I was a little disappointed by the statement in the newsletter stating "You inspire us every day and now we want to inspire you by helping millions of women connect with you and your communities." Do only women use BlogFrog? Or did you 'personalize' this newsletter to my gender?

I was going to forward your e-mail newsletter to my husband because your description of yourself sounded a lot like him - he, too, ran online bulletin boards (in college) and even builds satellites (in Northern Virginia, although he has traveled to CO to support a customer several times), but, quite honestly, the gender-specific reference makes me hesitate.

Please know, I am *not* some crazy gender-equality maniac! I was just surprised by the reference. Makes it seem like BF is for women only ...

I have my pet blog which I connect with other bloggers on,but I also have an affiliate network www.revenuecurve.com.

I would love to work with you and the bloggers who are looking for a way to monetize their blogs.

The bloggers  can earn money by signing up as an affiliate and place the targeted advertisers banners on their sites. They can tell me the interests they have and I can find the advertisers,or if there are advertisers out there we all can connect and help grow our businesses together. We currently have over 80 advertisers on board.

Please contact me to discuss. robin@revenuecurve.com

Hello!

I started blogging almost a year ago, and I have discovered a whole other world!  I've learned a lot, and I have a lot more to learn especially when it comes to SEO and monetizing my blog.

My suggestion for Blog Frog to boom is:  create a "how to blog" tutorial to help newbies especially mom bloggers!  I have read a lot of info., but so much of it is way to technical & over my head.

Just a thought!
